I sincerely believe that this issue has dragged on for too long. Why all the trouble of going to court nearly everyday?
I hear that Pfizer is offering a compensation of $10m, why don’t you people just accept this compensation offer? After all we all know that no amount of money can bring back the lives that have been lost. In addition, there is no evidence to show that Pfizer deliberately came to kill instead of saving lives. Let’s not forget that the company has partnered with Nigeria to dev the health care sector for fifty years. Besides, in the typical Hausa tradition it is believed that “God gives life and God takes life”.
Why don't the Kano State and Federal Governments save themselves all these court troubles and channel their energies to the betterment of the lives of those who are still alive?
I suggest that the Government should look into the issue of environmental sanitation, provision of potable water and basic education – illiteracy is the only reason why a person will refuse to immunize his/her child against polio. People are dying of polio today. Are we going to blame Pfizer for that too? Please let the government and Pfizer settle this issue out of court once and for all.
